Isn't it strange how in this lockdown period your home space has morphed into a work space, a learning space, a gym and perhaps even the local pub? It can be strange hearing these voices in your home when they don't normally belong there.
Your home's voice
What other voices are there in your home? What familiar sounds occupy our home space.....

Record some sounds that your appliances make around the home.
Play the recordings back in a room where the appliance isn’t.
How do they sound in the wrong room?
What voices would your silent appliances make if they could speak?
Amplifying your home's voice
What sounds around your house make you feel most at home? The pouring of a cup of tea? The sound of a door opening and closing? The sound of a pet?

Write a poem or rap about these homely sounds.
How do they sound?
When do you hear them?
How do they make you feel?
Read the poem or rap (safely) out of your window, to amplify your home's voice and let your neighbours hear it.
Sound map
What would your home be like if you just described it by its sounds? How would each room feel? How would you navigate your way around it?

Stand in the centre of one of the rooms in your house with your eyes closed.
Listen.
What sounds can you hear?
Knock on things, turn them on to make a sound.
Draw a picture of the sounds in the room and where they are in relation to where you're standing.
If you have time, why not repeat this in other rooms?
Make a map through the house based on sounds alone
An example of a sound map to inspire you can be found on our twitter @MisguideH with the hashtag: #misguideathome
